We had Songs That Made It To Cort, know we talk about songs that you didn’t know were covers.

1. ‘Fast Car’ by Jonas Blue and Dakota

This amazing House song can be heard in clubs all around the world. But many don’t know that the original comes from Tracy Chapman, and the song dates back to 1988.

2. ‘Girls Just Want to Have Fun’ by Cyndi Lauper

Even though this is Cindy’s most famous song, Robert Hazard actually wrote it in 1979, but when Cindy approached him to talk about doing a cover, Robert actually sat down and re-wrote some of the lyrics together with Cindy!

3. ‘Valerie’ by Amy Winehouse and Mark Ronson

When we all hear this tune, we just know the queen of Pop is the one who sings it! However, the original was sung by the band “The Zutons” in 2006.

4. ‘I Will Always Love You’ by Whitney Houston

Whitney’s version of this song definitely became much more popular than the original, and even ended up in the movie Titanic. But still, the original song was written and sang by Dolly Parton, back in 1973.

5. ‘Dancing in the Moonlight’ by Toploader

This feel-good song that makes everyone dance at least a little bit was also a cover! The original was written and performed by Kind Harvest, way back in 1972. But Toploader definitely gave it more room to grow in popularity.
