The Superfood Called: Berries

One of the healthiest things you can eat is berries. They are tasty, healthy, and offer a variety of remarkable health advantages.

As summer peaks, berries are currently in season! These juicy nibbles are not only delicious, but they also have several health benefits.

There is a huge range of these wonderful fruits. Among the favorites are blueberries, raspberries, blues, and strawberries, but there are also many other berries including gooseberries, huckleberries, mulberries, and boysenberries! Raspberries themselves come in red, black, purple, gold, and other hues.

Berries can do us much good, so let’s name some

Packed with antioxidants

Antioxidants found in berries aid in the regulation of free radicals. Free radicals are unstable chemicals that, while useful in moderation, can harm cells when present in large enough quantities (oxidative stress). Antioxidants such anthocyanins, ellagic acid, and resveratrol are abundant in berries. Along with safeguarding your cells, these plant compounds may lower the danger of illness.

May help improve blood sugar and insulin response

When combined with high-carb diets or added to smoothies, berries may boost blood sugar and insulin responsiveness.

Loads of fiber

Although fiber is a crucial ingredient, most individuals do not consume enough of it in their diets. In addition to promoting digestive health, it can also raise satiety, lower cholesterol, and enhance glucose regulation.

Great for your skin

Berries’ antioxidants, which help control free radicals, one of the main sources of skin damage that accelerates aging, may help minimize skin wrinkling. A protein called collagen is a component of the structure of your skin. Your skin can stretch while remaining firm thanks to it. Your skin may sag and become wrinkled when collagen is destroyed.

Nature, thank you for all the berries!
