At first glance – this miniseries consisting of 8 episodes – would be your ordinary biopic (a film or series dramatizing the life of a particular person, typically a public or historical figure). However, it is far from it, mainly due to the directors’ unusual approach, and the way they handled the story. The scenario is an adaptation of the Rolling Stone magazine article, which covered the incident and its later unfolding.

Another hugely important aspect of the series is its mind-blowing resemblance to the protagonists. Lily James’s uncanny transformation into Pamela Anderson is incredible, almost unbelievable. In the First few minutes of episode 1 of the series, you are unsure whether you are seeing Pam or not. It is a huge bow down to Lily James and the whole hair and make-up team who transformed her into the Baywatch star and activist. According to Lily James’s own words, she never exercised, but to get into Anderson’s shape, she had to break that habit, and start doing so. She did an awesome job, achieving Pam’s dream body. She exercised for 4 months, every single day, for about 2 hours. When the filming was done, she was done with it, too. Or at least, James says so.

Tommy Lee is played by Sebastian Stan. His staggering transformation also took 3 hours of work on the set. With all the tattoos, contacts, dark eyebrows, and the hair, as well as the body prosthetics for both Lily James and Sebastian Stan, all we can say is hats down to the make up artistry team!

And last, but not the least, Seth Rogen and Nick Offerman’s roles are highly noticeable. Their characters actually stole the infamous sex tape (which was never meant to be seen in public, in the first place) and sold it online. And here’s where the spoilers end.

The show is most definitely binge-worthy, so grab your popcorn, and indulge in the eight-part limited series ’Pam & Tommy’. The cast is already being praised for a job amazingly done. It will also leave you with questions on how privacy is protected and how our lives can be turned upside down instantly, whether we are ordinary people or A-list celebrities.

The Pam and Tommy series is a must see and will be the topic of discussion at many dinner parties.
