Russian Doll Season 2

Tv Show
Genre: Dramedy
Rating: 7.8 IMDB
Streaming on: Netflix,

Drop everything you planned for April 20, because Russian Doll season 2 is here!

Highly anticipated, long-awaited, due to COVID-19 productions being halted, the filming finally took off in 2021 and the 2nd installment of Netflix’s comedy-drama mini-series will now occupy our minds and take us for a multiverse-time bending ride.

The creators of the show are the same as in season 1 – Natasha Lyonne, Amy Poehler, and Lesley Headland. Even though we thought Nadia Vulvokov and Alan Zaveri completed their journey together and found some peace in this world in chapter 1;

The 2nd season teases us with some familiar unrest, maybe more profound than we ever expected. The unexpected couple (not romantically involved) searches for the reason they got together in the first place, wanting to help one another to get out from the loop they found themselves into. The plot may sound gloomy and dark, but it’s far from it – it’s witty, charming, with an amazing soundtrack.

As Nadia neatly puts it in season 1: It’s a long story, involving multiple deaths – we are eager to see what the story in chapter 2 has on its sleeve.

New York plays a huge role in the series as well, it is almost as if it’s one of the main characters. Mainly shot outside, around Tompkins Square Park in East Village, at least this was the most prominent location in season 1, we’ll see where season 2 takes us.

What we know from the trailer that was released a while ago, the story will involve different locations, including the subway and cemetery.

From the official announcement, Lyonne returns to the Emmy-winning series as Nadia, along with Barnett reprising his role as Alan Zaveri. Greta Lee (Maxine), Rebecca Henderson (Lizzy), and Elizabeth Ashley (Ruth) will return as well. Season 2 also features newcomers including Annie Murphy (whom we know from Schitt’s Creek), Carolyn Michelle Smith, and Sharlto Copley. Lyonne serves as showrunner and executive producer on the series.

 As Natasha Lyonne once stated, Russian Doll was pitched for 3 seasons, and hopefully, the filming, production, and post-production will not be delayed, as it happened with season 2.
